"The Gingerbread Story" - Entry Way Table
Custom handmade entry way table made of reclaimed hardwoods (Mix of white oak, cherry drawer outer trim, burl rainbow poplar - legs, hard maple, and red oak), dimensions roughly 32" long x 18" wide x 32" tall. Being reclaimed wood (you can see before photo) and to create a more rustic atmosphere to the furniture piece, features of old reused lumber such as nail holes and other characteristics of reused wood have been retained and reinforced from inside out with epoxy base fill. If you wish to use new milled lumber for a "new wood/perfect" presentation, please see notes 2 & 3 below concerning wood species and reclaimed vs. new milled wood selection. Table made with craft joinery mortise, tenon, compound dovetail, and hidden interlocking drawer alignment dovetail cleats to provide a robust crafted heirloom piece that can be passed down unlimited generations. Top is inlay inset with locked breadboard end banding all 4 sides to eliminate warping/splitting over years, but to allow for any wood movement due to environment/humidity changes, and has inlay custom cut tempered glass. This furniture piece is made in my shop by me, +40 years of master artisan wood working and carpentry experience. Company, Tiny Texas Wood Works & Machine, LLC. ™ , based in Houston, Texas. See notes below concerning order.
Note1 - this is a custom crafted piece and orders will be taken in advance of buildout. Please allow 3 - 4 months to receive product from purchase date (timing and price may vary depending on customer buildout requests, see note 2 below). Builds limited to 1 per year so quantities are limited.
Note2 - modifications to buildout to suit customer's needs can be done such as side heart/flower carvings alterations or removal of carvings "i.e. clean look", no inlay glass top (i.e. flat wood top), dimensions can be adjusted, wood species selection (see note 3 below), stain, final finish, drawer handles, etc. can be adjusted in addition to using new milled "perfect" lumber vs. reclaimed. A conversation will be set up between myself and customer to lay out the details of order preferences and final pricing prior to buildout. Weekly progress photos will be sent to customer in order to provide a history log of process steps, creation details, and to provide a high value customer experience. This will integrate the customer into the build process along the journey and provide additional historical memories to pass down to future generations. Note, removal of hand carvings and tempered glass will reduce overall cost of final project, can discuss further.
Note3 - If you wish to utilize reclaimed wood for a more "rustic feel", wood species may be limited to hardwoods such as various oak species, poplar, and in very rare cases cherry/maple. Reclaimed wood may vary far as origin (e.g. pallets, older used building lumber, etc.) and may vary in features (e.g. knots/wood shadings-coloring, nail holes, or other prior assembly characteristics). Again, this is prior used lumber and is more for rustic "artwork" appearance. If you wish to have a "perfect unblemished" furniture piece, you can elect to go with new milled lumber of your choice with regards to wood species, can discuss further on final pricing.
Note4 - Handling and Freight and insurances are included in the pricing and shipping arrangements will be coordinated with buyer prior to shipment. US Lower 48 states only for shipping.
Note: Also included with table is a care kit, care kit instructions, and information on where to procure replacement care products. Care kit includes oil rub preservative custom made by me with paraffin oil/bees wax/carnauba wax/orange oil/jojoba oil to protect wood/hardware components, microfiber clothes, and glass cleaner/preservative. As a note, the largest killer of wooden/metal furniture piece creations is UV and environmental pollution breakdown over time. I include the kit above with instructions to protect against both of these contributors to furniture deterioration which can be applied to any other precious furniture pieces you may own or acquire in future.
